Zell am See

Lying snug between the shores of the beautiful Zeller Lake and the magnificent Schmittenhöhe, the mountain known for its most breathtaking views over the Alps, this romantic resort charms every guest that was fortunate enough to experience its natural beauty. Dating back to medieval times, Zell am See is probably the most attractive lakeside ski resort in Austria. It has a sophisticated atmosphere with plenty of shopping and dining opportunities.

For us, the magic of the place stems from the fact that this chocolate-box beautiful resort is a lively medieval town surrounded by a fabulous skiing area rather than a purpose-built ski resort with no charm, of which so many have lately sprung up.

When it comes to diversity, Zell am See is unbeatable! You can go skiing, swimming, snow-shoeing or horse-riding, play tennis, enjoy the fabulous new Alpine thermal spa, admire medieval architecture, and have a fun evening out - all in one day!

Kaprun

Neighbouring Kaprun, a 10 minute bus ride away, is situated at the foot of the Kitzsteinhorn glacier and although smaller, still offers a good selection of bars and restaurants in its rustic centre.

No wonder that the region continues to attract discerning visitors time and time again!

Zell am See-Kaprun, situated in the heart of the Alps in the Salzburg province, is truthfully one of the most spectacular ski regions in Austria. The two villages are 7 kilometres apart, hug the Hohen Tauern mountain range, and are surrounded by the ski mountain peaks of Kitzsteinhorn (3.203 m), Schmittenhöhe (2.000 m) and Maiskogel (1.675 m).

Two resorts in one

The two fabulous all-round resorts of Zell am See and Kaprun are connected by a free ski bus and share a fantastic skiing area with 130 kilometres of runs covered by a single ski pass. Easily accessible nursery slopes, a great amount of intermediate slopes and some challenging black runs and off-piste areas, mean there really is something for all abilities and disciplines here.
