Zell am See-Kaprun is undoubtedly one of the easiest ski resorts to be reached from the UK and Ireland. All it takes is just a short flight to Salzburg and one-hour airport transfer to the resort! Alternatively, Munich or Innsbruck are also very good airports with many convenient connections.

To Salzburg

Salzburg airport is just 80 kilometres (49 miles) from Zell am See - Kaprun and is a wonderfully quiet and hassle-free airport. It usually takes just 10 minutes to exit the airport after landing! The airlines flying to Salzburg include:

  • Air Lingus

To Munich

Munich airport is 200 kilometres (125 miles) from Zell am See-Kaprun and although the journey to the resort takes a bit longer than from Salzburg (approx. 2.5 hours), it might be worthwhile for the often cheaper fares and convenient connections from the UK or Irish regional airports. To Innsbruck

Innsbruck airport is 145 kilometres (90 miles) from Zell am See-Kaprun and is a great alternative to Salzburg and Munich. The airport transfer takes around 2 hours. For more information, please visit Innsbruck airport.

By car

Zell am See-Kaprun is perfectly connected to the local traffic network. This, in combination with the breathtaking Alpine panorama, turns travelling by car into a highly enjoyable sightseeing tour. Zell am See-Kaprun is a 2.5 hours drive from Munich, and one hour drive from Salzburg.

If you do decide to drive your own car to Zell am See-Kaprun, please note that winter tires are not only a must for your safety but also a legal requirement. Four winter tires are mandatory from 1st November to 15th April each year and during winter conditions outside these times.

If you hire a car in Austria, it will automatically be equipped with the correct tires.
